Many of us want to configure our ADSL modem to change passwords of wifi or configure it when first bought but 70% doesn't know how to enter into it's setup page.My friends asked me this question many times when they encountered this problem .ADSL modem configuration is usually not done in software mode so people usually doesn't know it.
- Plug your modem's power connector
- Plug all necessary connections(internet line,LAN cable b/w your computer and modem)
- Check the modem's labels which says router IP,default IP. note down that ip address.if it not present in the label it will be"192.168.1.1" .
- Now open any browser type the router IP if given or the IP I given.
- The Browser will prompt for authentication, the default username and password will be "admin". If it fails the username and password will be in your modem's documents.
- Once authentication completes, your are in modem's setup.Here you can change all values like ip address, wifi passwords and many other settings.Changes should be made with extream CARE otherwise your modem will fail to connect to internet.
- Open cmd
- Type telnet 192.168.1.1(your router ip).
- Enter username and password when asked.
- done your are in modem's setup.
